Númenor Adventure Modules Overview
This section of the site is focused on the Ready-to-Play adventure modules set in and around Númenor.
You will find links and information here for the various adventure modules based on and around Nùmenor.
Materials include Wiki pages for the modules being worked on, and PDFs of drafts and completed revisions of the adventure modules, ready to play.
Abbreviated as ARP = Adventure, Ready to Play).
The goal of these modules is to provide enough material that the Gamemaster can (hopefully) start playing almost immediately, with only a minimum of preparation, and that preparation to be only reading ahead, or at least skimming the salient points needed to GM it.
Plenty of narrative and dialog boxes are provided that the GM can read from directly (or paraphrase). The read-to-play adventures differ from the Sourcebooks in that the sourcebooks are an amalgamation of material, and ideas, with maybe some campaigns included for lots of adventure ideas, but nothing fully fleshed out.
The ready-to-play modules are just that, ready to play as is, the GM won't have to figure out or create the adventure.
Typically the ready-to-play modules provide at leat one game sessions play at a minimum, and more typically, several to many game sessions.
Whereas a Sourcebook/Campaign module can provide years and years of gaming fun, but the GM will have to work more at preparing it, and keeping it rolling.
The following modules are slated for creation or are already progressing or completed:
- "Escape From Nùmenor" - This was used in MerpCon I (2005) as the convention 3-day campaign. Nearing completion. It is a fast paced Ready-to-Play Adventure Module.
It is set in the last 2 weeks before the destruction of Nùmenor. The players must find a means of joining up to Elendil's fleet and/or escaping the Island before it's too late.
This module is nearing completion for a 1st release draft. I am currently receiving artists submissions, while I continue to revise and clean up the module core.
I intend to release more updates to the other "alternate paths" that were sketched out, but not detailed in time for the convention.
This should be released in coming weeks. The worst case for a late release I think would be the end of December 2006, but it could be as soon as the end of this month. We'll see...
A shortened version of this module has been created to be released with Other Minds Magazine Issue #2. It's still in a bit rough shape, but actually somewhat usable now.

- "Under Umbar" - This was used in MerpCon II (2006) as the convention's 3-day campaign. This is set in Umbar, only months after "The Fall". This turned out to be a better module for a longer gaming session, and had to be rushed a bit to fit within the time constraints of the convention. There will likely be an overhaul of this adventure down the road, because in the crunch to prepare it for MerpCon II, I used the maps from the old ICE Module "Umbar", which has since been totally lambasted. I'll post both revisions here as they are available.

- "Nùmenor, First Contacts". This was used as the multiple campaigns for MerpCon III (2007) with multiple tables and game masters. It is during the more benevolent expansion of Nùmenor. This ARP is set as a first contact situations after the many centuries away from the mainlands of Middle-earth. This is an over arching "campaign" but since it's broken up over very different time periods, are offered as separate adventure moduls (but have a common thread that can be linked together).
